(1) 279A Breviarium Romanum, cum Kalendario, MS. oN VELLUM [EnauisHh XIVrH Century], 209 leaves (41 by 23in.), written in small gothic characters, 17 long lines to a page, decorated with numerous initials painted im colours and burnished gold, with marginal elongations of bar pattern, one historiated and containing a miniature of the Saviour seated ; the Calendar contains miniatures of the Occupations of the Months, some of the text and paintings rubbed slightly, original red sheepskin binding (wormed) XIV CENT. 2798 Hora Brata Maria VIRGINIS, cum Kalendario, ILLv- MINATED MS. on VELLUM [FRENCH XVTH CENTURY |, 354 leaves (4 by 220n.), written in small, neat lettres bdtardes, 12 long lines to a page, Calendar in red, blue and gold, chapter headings and running titles in gold, illustrated with four arched miniatures, within floral borders, very finely executed, depicting (1) the Annunciation, (2) the Visitation, (3) Adoration of the Magi, (4) David praying, richly decorated throughout with numerous large ornamental initials, full and single borders, the borders composed of pen tendrils with wy-leaves of burnished gold, conventional foliage and natural flowers occasionally introduced, in brilliant colours; on verso of f4 ts a coat-of-arms embla- zoned, azure, on a chevron sa. 3 cinquefoils or, two hares as supporters, a hawk with outspread wings proper, motto](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b31647595_0032.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
