Description

Organa septem planetarum. Basle. 1536. Organum Uranicum. Basle. 1536. Illustrated by carefully drawn astronomical figures, including 13 of larger size, with volvelles; and 12 others in which the volvelles are wanting. Engraved armorial book-plate of Georg Carl Joseph Rendl de Hainxenberg, Jurisprudentiae Doctor at Comes Palatinus Caesareus. In the title is written 'Descripta hec sunt ex antiquo exemplari / per / N.J.C.V.M.I.V.D. / Anno / 1693 / Incepta septima octobris. Finita ultima die Anni huiusque'. This is a companion volume, labelled on spine 'Vol. II', to MS. 964 [Apianus] and is written by the same hand. The initials may perhaps be partly expanded as N.J.C[omes] V[on] M. I[uris] V[triusque] D[octor]'.
