We pass on to the second division of our subject, the consideration of EXTRAORDINARY OR OCCASIONAL STIMULI, such as generally produce a certain amount of temporary exalted action, either of body or of mind, or of both, not only without actual injury, but with positive benefit. Under the head of extraordinary stimuli, we have A, Physical : 1. Alcoholic stimuli. u. Stimulant ingesta generally; tea, coffee, spices, drugs. rim. Atmospheric changes. B, Mized : I. Sexual stimuli. 1, Hxtra exercises ; dancing and athletic sports. m1. Travelling, and exciting or novel scenes. C, Mental Stimuli : 1. Hope, joy, &c. m1. Love, anger, &c. 11. Social intercourse. Iv.
