It was possible definitely to establish the fact that Tt least three and probably four species of entamoebae were present. The entamoehae histolytica was found m four cases. iPntamoeha coli was present in a number ot cases. ZtZoeTa tetragena. An entamoeba resembling in all respects the pub- ii<;hPd descriptions of E. tetragena was found m gbme cases. uo^^^ A numbS of preparations stained with polychrome stains and Iron Haema^ toxylin and^xnaterial containing encysted entamoebae, was forwarded to Sflf,; O F Craig Medical Corps, U. S. A., for an expression of opinion. At the suggestion of ^t^^^^^^ Pellagra Commission a statistical study of protozoa in ectioi th^^^^^^^^^^^ canal was undertaken among the patients ^^''^f^;^^^]!^^^^^^^^^ at Kankakee and Dunning, without reference to the piesence oi absence oi diarrhoea or dysentery.
