![Mk, Teale (of Leeds) seconded the motion, find bore testi- mony to the knowledge possessed by the ancients, and those of the middle ages. He said tliey would be surprised to find how little of anatomical and pln^siological science belonged to our own times. Although they met Avith facts ne\A^ to them- selves, they ought not to conclude forthwith that they had not been preA'iously ascertained. It Avas, on the contrary, the duty of all engaged in such pursuits, AA'hen they met Avith facts previously unknoAni to them, to ascertain Avhether they had not been previously recorded, before they communicated them to the public. The motion Avas then unanhnously adopted, and briefly acknowledged by Dii. Kidd. THURSDAY THE SECOND DAY OF THE MEETINO. The members of the A.ssoc’iation met again this morning, at tAvelA’’e o’clock, the attendance being again numerous. Dii. Holme having taken the Chair, Dr. Hastings dreAv attention to the fact that Reports on A'arious subjects, Avhich gentlemen had at former meetings been deputed to draAv up, had not yet been received- Thus the Report on Provincial Medical Schools, which should have been presented last j^ear at Oxford, but for the non-presentation of Avhich Anlid reasons Avere then given, had not been deliA^ered in. This subject, particularly, AAns one Avhich had attracted a great deal of interest, but if delayed the interest Avould fail. He mentioned the matter, not intending to impute individual blame, but wishing to impress on gentlemen aa'Iio Avere selected, the necessity of observing the time fixed for the reception of these Reports. Mr. Crosse then read his Retrospectii'e Address for the past year.
