    The Purser will be allowed to issue an annual proportion of Canvass for Pudding Bags, after the rate of one ell for every sixteen Men. When the issue of Salt Meat is renewed after Fresh Meat has been served, it must be recollected that the Salt Meat on the first day of issue is not to be of the same species as that issued on the last day before Fresh Meat was served. Women at one half, for Persons and Children at one quarter of the Allowance established in this duty otTg Article for Persons serving on board. 31. Prisoners of War, Pirates and Persons detained for illicit Traffic Prisoners of (the Names of whom are to be inserted in the Victualling Book, &c!r’Pirates* in a separate List,) are to be victualled at two-thirds Allowance only, but without Spirits, Wine, or Beer, excepting when required to work in navigating the Ship, at the Pump, or on any other Service, when they are to be victualled at full Allowance of all Species ; and the Purser, at the foot of the List on which they are borne in his Victualling Book, is to obtain a Certificate, according to the Form No. 11. A. in the Appendix. But he is to observe, that when he Victuals such persons at two-thirds’ Allowance, he must debit himself in his General Statement, with the Proportion of Beer, and the Eighths thereon, for these persons, as he will have already taken Credit for such proportion in the aggregate Number of Men victualled. 32.
