Solu- hility, 1 in 3 of water; insoluble in spirit. Impurities. —Salts of Ammonium and Iron. Dose, ^ to 1 oz. /. Sodii Phosphas. — Phosphate of Sodium. Na2 HP04,12H2O. Source.—Obtained by (2) adding a solution of Car- bonate of Sodium to a solution of Acid Phosphate of Calcium, prepared from (1) a mixture of Bone-ash and Sulphuric Acid. (1) Ca32P04-f 2H2SO4 = CaH42P04 + 2CaS04. (2) CaH42P04+Na2C03 = Na2HP04 -f HgO -f CO2 + CaHP04. Characters.—Colourless, transparent,rhombic prisms, efflorescent, tasting like common salt.
