About this work
Description
A series of 13 taped radio programmes, each telling the story of an individual scientist who has broken through into the traditional, white male dominated, world of science in the United States. A troubled future is forecast for the scientific life of the United States unless it can continue to recruit new scientists. In order to fill the anticipated vacancies in the ranks of scientifically-trained personnel, Native Americans, Hispanics, African Americans and women are being encouraged, recruited and trained in the sciences.
