$I 108 ] The Magiftrates fhould take care that the dead bodies do not remain unburied longer than is abfolutely neceffary for determining the difeafe by which life was deflroyed. » » .« Thofe who are employed in burying the dead fhould be protected from the contagion, by having cloaks and gloves of oil-cloth, which fhould be frequently wafhed with vine¬ gar ; and that they may not touch the dead bodies with their hands, they fhould be pro¬ vided with hooks and other inflruments for lifting them up.
