The birth place of John Locke at Wrington, Somersetshire; G. Harrison delt.. Since yu command me I here send yu what I propose above a twelve month since for the reforming of our year, before the addition of an other day increase the error e make up, if we got on in our old way differ the next year eleven days from those who have a more rectified calendar...
Lettering below the etching includes a facsimile of a letter from John Locke to Sir Hans Sloane, 2 December 1699, about the reform of the calendar, from Add. MSS. Brit. Mus. no. 4052 (subsequently in the British Library)
