Mr, Chefelden was the inventor of this plafler, winch he recommended to be applied to bruifed parts and other painful tumours. Di. Kirkland ufes a plafter fimilar to this, with the addition -of camphor and muriated ammonia. EMPLASTRUM PJ.CIS COMPOSITUM. ft Picis aridas unc. viij. Ammoniaci. , Galbani fing. unc. iv, Radicis pyrethri. Seminum finapi. Camphors fing. unc. j. Olei terebinthinse q. f. The three firft ingredients being melted toge- thei, the pellitory, muftard-feed and camphor, previoully powdered, mutt be added, and as much oil of turpentine as will make the whole of a due confihence. This application is to the full as ftimulating as the euphorbium plaf- ter and poffeifes fimilar properties.
