![[56] This is the anodyne fomentation of Guy’s Hofpital. The poppies, having been bruifed, are to be boiled till there only remains a quart, which is to be {trained and the liquor preffed out frorry the remaining poppies. This remedy is highly ferviceable in affuaging extreme pain, in inflamed or ulcerated parts. GARGARISMA ALUMINIS_ R Aluminis drach. ij. Deco&i hordei lib. ij. Mellis rofae unc. iij.. mifce.. This gargle is calculated for ulcerations in the throat, gums, &c. and is of fervice in relaxati- on of the uvula and other cafes requiring the topical ufe of aftringents. GARGARISMA HYDRARGYRI MURI- ATf. R Decofti hordei lib. j. Liquoris hydrargyri muriati gutt. v. Mellis rofae unc. ij. mifce. This is a fuitable gargle for venereal ulcers in the throat, and feldom fails of rendering- the patient very effential fervice.
