Description

According to the OED (2nd ed.), 'Galimatias' means "confused language, meaningless talk, nonsense". It also notes an instance from 1712 written by Addison in 'The Spectator', no. 275, p.6: "The great cavity was filled with a kind of spongy substance, which the French anatomists call galimatias and the English, nonsense"
