The Department has on de- posit and administers a quantity of re- cords collected by the Alabama Con- ference Historical Society and relating chiefly to the Methodist Church in cen- tral and southern Alabama; included are record books of districts and cir- cuits and records of several local churches. The Department also has other records of the Methodist Church, dating from 1836; extensive records of Baptist, Episcopal, and Presbyterian churches in Alabama; and typed copies of birth, marriage, and other records of the [Catholic] Cathedral of the Im- maculate Conception, Mobile, dating from 1704. There are also numer- ous diaries, scrapbooks, and maps and a collection of autograph letters of U.S. Presidents. TALLADEGA Savery Library, Talladega College. Margaret H. Scott, Librarian.
