Approximately seven-elevenths are in the state of California and nearly nine-elevenths in the two Pacific Coast states of California and Washington. California and Washington are the only states where the total of “ all other racial groups ” amounts to as many as one thousand. In California the number is 5263; in Washington, 1150. New York with 735 is the next state in order. The Negroes are rather heavily massed in the Southern sections, and the tendency of this part of the population is toward a yet greater concentration.
