![HEALTH REPORT FOR 1942. Ladies and Gentlemen, I have pleasure in submitting my Annual Health Report for the year 1942, this being the twentieth one presented by me as your Medical Officer of Health. The population of the District as estimated by the Registrar- General for mid-1942 was 29,920, as compared Avith 31,370 last year. The l>i]‘th Rate for the year shoAAual an increase, tins ix'iiig 16.4 as against 13.1 last year. A decrease took place in the Death Rate, this being equal to 11.9 per thousaiid of population, as compared Avith 13.2 last year. An increase took place in the Infantile Mortality Rate, auz. : 52 per thousand registered births, as against 37 last year. OAving to the sinall numbers involved, this Rate is liable to fluctuate. A large decrease in the number of cases of Infectious Disease notified took place, this being due to a much smallei- number of case's of Measles l)eing reported.
