![PROVISION OF MEALS. I'he Authoritv have not provided meals for necessitous or other cliildren. They have assisted J.ocal Manag'ers working' as a voluntary organisation bv^ the provision of apparatus and payment for service at Barlbv and (lilberdvke vSchools and by the provision of apparatus onlv at Patrington. d'he dinner schemes at these Schools are self-sup- porting, and a varied dietary is offered. SCHOOL BATHS. d'his sul)je('t has l)een dealt with when speaking of uncleanliness. CO-OPERATION OF PARENTS. 3,282 parents were j^resent at the examination of tlieir children. d'his number gi\'es a percentage of 46.3, which compares ver\' favourable with 39.9 per cent, in 1919 and 36 ])er cent, in 1918. d'here were 64 objections to the examination of individual children, compared with 39 in the previous \-ear. (GeneralIv speaking tlie parents are willing to carrv out tlu^ advice of the School Medical Inspectors, but for such defects as enlarged tonsils and adenoids and defective sig'ht a number of replies to the Authorit\'’s letter are rcx'eived exprccssing inabilitv to provide the necessar^' treatment owing to the expense. All such cases are incjuircxl into with a vic'w to assistance being given. CO-OPERATION OF TEACHERS. Prior to an inspection at a School the Head Teacher inserts certain details such as the height, weight, age, etc., of a ('hild u]:)on the medical card, and thus much time is saved and valuable assistance rendered to the Inspectors. The Head dVacher also primarily tests the e^'esight of the scholars by means of the Snellen Test C'ard.
