Tlie satisfactoiy result of these observations, there recorded, is well known, and renders unnecessary the further recital of those which were made in the present cases.* At the lower pai*t of tlie abdomen was the same soft, pul])y; florid and vascular swelling, as is represented in the di'aw- ing of the case of the female, formed by the protinded mucous surface of the pos- terior wall of the bladder, its protnision varying with the degi'ee of pressvu-e from behind, and affected both by the respi ratory movement of the surrounding parts, and by the posture of the body. The penis was rudimentaiy, with complete epispadias; the urine, con- stantly distiDed from the open mouths of the lu-eters at the lowfer pai't of the swelling, fell, during the erect posture, in part, upon the open groove of the uretlira, which served imperfectly as a spout.
