![SCHOOL CLOSURE.—During the year the following schools have been closed on account of the prevalence of epidemic disease amongst the scholars. Lindale-in-Cartmel, on account of Diphtheria, from the 1st to the 12th of February. Coniston, on account of Whooping Cough, from the 21st of January until the 5th of February. Lindale-in-Cartmel, owing to the prevalence of Scar¬ let Fever, from the 3rd of March to the 30th of April. Cartmel, on account of Scarlet Fever, from the 20th of June to 16th of July. Sawrey, on account of Scarlet Fever, from the 6th to the 17th of July. Urswick and Stainton, on account of Measles, from the 4th to the 22nd of October. Dendron, on account of Measles, from the 17th of October to the 14th of November. Pennington, on account of Measles, from the 2nd to the 28th of November. Colton, on account of Scarlet Fever, from the ] 3th to the 31st of December.
