![longed) tinto the Sun, as I have fhewed elfevvhere,and as.sold ss a metal under the dominion of the S un, and hatha virtue eo withfiand all kinds of evils, and to comfort the heart, ar- I terfes, and vital fpiritSi fo likewife hath thefe herbs under his dominion the like properties, as alfo the ruby amongft ftones; j Generally all thofe pains, aches, diftempers or afflictions, which are caufed by Witchcraft are called Evils, and fame- I - times’thefe kinds of Evils will turn into white kernels, fuel¬ lings, proceeding from fome extraordinary dfftemper in the nerves ( as I have elfewhere exprefled, and then itsufually called the Kings Evil. ) Having collected my herbs toge¬ ther according unto their numbers and virtues, being under the dominion of the Sun and Jupiter, as aforefaid, and caufed ] a mixture, then out of thefe herbs, weufually make diet ,1 drinks ointments, and fuffumigations; of the diet drink, I ' i gave him three times a day, vi^. Morning, afternoon, and 1 night, alfo every morning we ufually gi e them water-grewel made with fume of thofe herbs about an hour after they have taken the diet drink, by which means through Gods bkfling the boy within a month was cured, and hath fo continued e- j ver fmce. I believe it will be a warning unto him, how to meddle with fuch Creatures in a morning without prayer. I ] fliall relate one paftage, which happened between the Hoys Unkle and my fclf, as followerh * , The month being expired, | xvihioh was the time fet for the Boys cure, he came to fee whether the Boy could fpeak or no, whereupon I called in I the boy and bad him fpeak to his unckle, which he did, de- ' ftring to know how a!] his friends did j whereupon his llokle j leaned to be much troubled* and fad, for as he told me af- J terwards, he did verily believe, that i had infufed a fpirit in- 1 to the boy to make him <peak \ and his reafon was becaufe the j Dolors and others, who had undertaken to help him ( but , could not3faid he would never be cured, as they verily \ believed by any man whatfoever.* whereupon the boys tin¬ kle defired me to keep him fomewhat longer, and then he would come and bring money for the cure : The reafon why ' ne brought no money with him, was, becaufe he did not be- j ;:eve 1 could help him; and he made his bargain fo, that if I did not cure the boy, I was to have nought for my charge and pains. And about a week after he came privately to my Servants, defiring to fpeak with the boy, which he did, and then, but not before he was fatisfied, for the boy could both pray and readily give anfwers unto queflrons.
