    M. Sage differed from thefe two chemifts in obtaining non-deliquefcent cryftals, by com¬ bining the acid of phofphorus with the foffil al¬ kali, but the other properties or figure of thefe cryftals he does not defcribe. Mr. Klaproth relates that he compofed a fait fimilar to the fal mirabile perlatum of Haupt, or the fal fufibile, with the bafe of natron of Rou- elle, by combining this acid with the above al¬ kali ; the figure of which double fait, however, is totally different from the fait I compofed of the fame fubftances. Laftly, Mr. Prouft having made a lixivium of the fait for making phofphorus of urine, in order to obtain the fufible or microfcomic fait, he procured parallelogramic cryftals, which he con¬ cludes were compofed of an acid analogous to the fedative fait that, united with the foda, forms the fal fufibile with the bafe of natron, whereas the microicomic fait is principally phof- phorated volatile alkali. Profeflbr Bergman adopted this opinion, and admitted this fait, fuppofed to be analogous to the boracic.acid, as a particular acid, and gave it a place under the tide oi the Perlate Acid, in his tables of fingle elective attraftions.
