Cooper, 1743, in 1 vol. old calf gilt 4to 38 PSALTERIUM CUM CANTICIS, cum Calendario, RICHLY ILLUMINATED FLEMISH MANUSCRIPT ON: VELLUM (Ashburnham Appendix No. XXXVII), (212 ll. 73 by 54 in.) written in lettres batardes, Calendar in red and black, rubrics in Latin, long lines, 22 to a full page, Calendar with illuminated borders of scroll flowers, fruits and birds, and small medallion miniatures of the Signs of the Zodiac; similar borders adorn the outer margins of 33 other pages ; WITH 5 FULL-PAGE MINIATURES within borders of flowers and fruit, peacocks, &c. (1) represents the interior of an Oratory, the altar with a green frontal embroidered with the Vilains’ device (XIIII) in gold, surmounted by a triptych of the Crucifixion, with Christ Bearing the Cross and Rising from the Tomb in the wings ; the knight (Vilain) and his wife kneel at two praying-desks, and have their arms on their dresses (the man bearing Vilain and De Rasenghein, the woman De Masmines and De Ghistelles) ; an angel and a woman above bear similar coats, and the whole ts within aw fine border of dark green and gold foliage ; the other 4 miniatures represent: (2) David Praying, a female figure and a wnicorn below, coat of arms on
