J had a children’s party..... 19th, Got all my exhibits ready, and started them off for Salem. Nothing left but myself. Will leave to-morrow morning..... 23rd, Got some prizes at the Exhibition; don’t exactly know at pre- sent what they are..... 30th, (Yercaud) Sent Mr. S a pair of Dorking fowls..... April 3rd.—Sent down exhibits for the Glasgow Exhibition ..... May 20¢h.—Asked to see Mrs. § ’s baby, ill of convulsions. Went at once, and was there till10 am. Went again at 3 P.M, and remained till 7 p.m. Child bad. .... 21st, Saw S ’*s baby morning and evening: the child seems wellagain..... 22nd, Saw S ’3 baby which is now well. L sent his pony over for treatment: attended toitsfeet..... June 2nd.—Sent Tassa-silk cocoons to Messrs. Wardleand Waily..... 3rd, Was asked to see Mrs. H by her husband, Surgeon H Found her very low. Made suggestions and left..... 4th, Saw Mrs. H both morning and evening: she is progress- ing well. .... 5th, Archbishop Colgan, Father K and others came to breakfast..... 6th to 10th, Saw Mrs. H daily ; found her going on well..... 20th, Was asked to see Mrs. S by Mrs. L and the Apothecary : saw her and prescribed for her..... 22nd, Called and saw Mrs. S ; found her better ..... July 18th.— By request went to see B. D—— and prescribed for him. The above were all very serious cases of ill- ness, which terminated happily. Notes of the Doctor’s own weakness and indisposition begin to appear oftener than before. On the 25th
