    July 1888, a second son was born to the Doctor, —a fine child, of whom he became very fond. September 1st.—A cow in difficult labour was brought by a Mahommedan. Performed Cesarian operation and removed a cow calf from her..... 10th, Called at 10 p.m. to see Madame B at the request of Mrs. , and prescribed for her..... 11th, Saw Madame B both in the morning and in the evening and prescribed for her whee as 12th to 17th, Called and saw Madame B : she _ Was very much better and progressing steadily..... 19th, Went to J valley (5 miles off) to see Mr. M ’s children, who were reported sick..... October 8th.—Was busy with articles for the Mysore Exhibition ARES, 11th, Arrived at Bangalore; met M at station -+.++. Went toC ’s; had tea there. Experienced much kindness from M and C Took train for Mysore. 15th, (Mysore) Went over the Exhibition grounds. Met Mr, Ricketts, and had a chat with him..... 16th, At the Exhibition had a chat with Col. Hay; joined the Live Stock Committee, which did not finish work till BOM. et 17th, Was atthe Exhibition at Col. Hay’s request. In the afternoon saw photos taken of some of the prize animals..... 18th, Exhibition closed to the public, on account of Rani’s visit.,... 20¢h, Mr. C came and took me away to bea judge of Forest products at the Exhibition. Met Sir Harry Prendergast, the Resi- dent, who shook hands cordially, and said he was glad to see me, and that he had been reading my interesting writings. . ... 22nd, Again on Committee on Forest products. Again cordially met by Sir Harry Prendergast, who again said he had read my writings with great interest..... 23rd, Not feeling well. Kept my bed the greater part of the Cage i oH,» 25th, Arrived at home..... Still not well
