![DOMICILIARY VISITS. The number cf home visits paid by the Clinical Tuberculosis Officer during the year numbered 61, consisting mostly of new patients who were considered unfit to attend the Clinic. At many of these examinations the patient’s private practitioner was present. The Tuberculosis Nurse paid a total of 1,314 visits to patients in their own homes,and made 673 attendances at the Ultra-Violet Light Clinic. In addition to her usual duties,which include home visiting if all tuberculous persms on the Register.the Tuberculosis Nurse has carried out Almoner's duties in connection with Tuberculosis Maintenance Allowances. MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES. Number of Mainterianqe Allowances commenced during 1944 31 . Tof these 25 were to males,ana 6 to females), (Of the 25 males,16 wero married men with dependants; 1 was a Widower ) with m dependants; 8 were single men without dependants. ) (Of the 6 females,1 was a single woman with dependants; 5 were single ] ( women with nc dependants. ) Number if patients who accepted Sanatorium treatment in the advice of 26. the Clinical Tuberculosis Officer. Allowance discontinued after six months as the patient was not 3. likely to regain working capacity. Died. 3. CLINIC REGISTER. On December 31st,the number of cases en the Register was 490 - a decrease if 10,as compared with last year. Of the total number,352 were pulmonary cases,and of these 200,or 56.8$,had a positive sputum. During the year no case,removed at an earlier date when the condition was considered to be completely arrested,was restored to the Register, BRADLEY WOOD SANATORIUM. In conformity with the practice of former years,wherever possible,only those cases in which there was reasonable hope of improvement were admitted to the Sanatorium. Advanced cases requiring institutional treatment were admitted to the Mill Hill Isolation Hospital. Admissions to the Sanatorium during the year numbered 80. These included 10 ox-service men and 2 ox-service women. Deaths in the Sanatorium totalled 13. X—RAY EXAMINATIONS. During the year,a new change-over switch was fitted to the overhead high tension system.otherwise.no alterations were necessary to the existing plant,which has continued xc give satisfactory service.
