    With this idea of the cause of these epidemical con- vulsions, I could have wished to concert some plan of cure which might make a salutary impression upon the Imagination; but being situated at near eighty miles distance from my correspondent and my patients, no measures of that kind could be attempted. I could not do better than order some anti-spasmodick medicines, and to desire Mr. Griffith to use all his authority to prevent girls and young women from having any communication with persons affefted with these con- vulsions, and to keep those who were ill of the distem- per separate from each other as much as possible. I warned him, that if these cautions were not observed, the epidemick might spread through the whole island of Anglesey.
