ITelloicv Fever.—An acute, infectious fever peculiar to warm climates, attended with jaundice, gastric hemorrhage, and intestinal hemorrhage. R For high fever : ft Antiseptic, gastro-intestinal: Calomel 3grn. Sodium Bicarbonate lOgrn. Dispense as 1 powder. On tongue. (Initial purge.) Antlpyrine 40grn. Acetanilid 30 grn. Euquinine 40 grn. Caffeine Merck 6 grn. Divide into 12 powders. One every 3 or 4 hours till temper- ature falls. Salol Merck.... 1 dr. Resorcin Resubl. Merck. 1 dr. Peppermint Oil tiugar 20 grn. Make into 12 powders. One every 3 hours. Naphtol Benzoate 1 dr. Ichthalbin 2 dr. Peppermint Oil Sugar 20 grn. Make into 12 powders. One every 3 hours. ft For black vomit : Styptlcin Merck 20 grn. Antlpyrine Ij^ dr. S3rrup 4fL dr. Orange-Flower Water to make 2 fl. oz. Teaspoonful every 3 to 4 hours. Antlpyrine 2 dr. Ergotln (Bonjean) Merck 1 dr. Tannic Acid Superior, Merck 2 dr. Cinnamon Water 3fl. oz. Teaspoonful In water every 3 hours. Triphenin 1 dr. Euquinine i dr. Peppermint Oil Sugar 20 grn. Make into 12 powders. One every 4 hours till temperature falls. I^ For nausea and vomiting: Cocaine Hydrochlorate Merck ..- 8gni. Bismuth Subnitrate 1 dr. Resorcin Resubl. Merck.. 30 grn. Sugar 20 grn. Dispense as 12 powders. One every 3 hours. Valldol 4 fi. dr. Fifteen to 30 drops every 1 to 2 hours, as needed. ft For neuralgic pains: Dionin 8grn. Antlpyrine.. 40grn. Tlnct. Gelsemlum 90min. Brandy 1 fl. oz. Syrup .to make 2fl.oz. Dessertspoonful ever'^ 3 nours, a£ needed. OTHER REMEDIES FOR YELLOW FEVER : Carbolic Acid, Nitrohydrochlorlc Acid, Salicylic Acid, Mercury salts, as mtiseptics; Lead Acetate, to check hemorrhage; Aconite, Cimicifuga, Pilo- carpine, Potassium Acetate, Salines, Veratrum Viride, to lessen fever; Gelse nium.
