Atice’s ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND, tlustra- tions by Tennel, PRESENTATION INSCRIPTION IN THE AUTHOR'S HAND on half-title, original cloth gilt, g.e. 1886; Alice’s Adventures Under Ground, FIRST EDITION, tlustrations by the author, PRESENTATION INSCRIPTION IN THE AUTHOR'S HAND on half-title, original cloth gilt, g. e. 1886 ** The inscription in the latter book reads “ Presented to Edith Martin (as a memento of her having taken part in the Dream- Play “ Alice in Wonderland ” written by H. Savile-Clarke and first produced Christmas, 1886), by Lewis Carroll.” The other inscription is identical except for a slight change in the order of the words. Accompanying the books is a slip of paper on which Dodgson has written “The ‘ Alice Under Ground’ was inscribed by mistake: so both are sent. L.
