Therefore you muft ufe preventing Me¬ dicines, not only to thofe which are newly born, but to thofe alfo which have recovered, Firft therefore to Children newly born, before they fuck, give one fcruple of the Pouder de Gmte- ta mentioned before, in a little milk, and give the fame quantity thrice in two daies. It is oood both for .them which hive been cured,and children when they are a few daies old to apply a Cauftick to their Necks. But an a^ual Cautery is much better, which our Phyfitians will not ufe, becaufe they abhor violent and terrible Medicines.
