Description

Decomposition products of Protein. Holograph note-book of laboratory work at the Physiological Laboratory, King's College, London, and at Cornell University Medical College, New York. Ff. 40-45 contain a holograph draft of a letter to Dr. (H. D.) Halliburton [1860-1931] giving a resumé of the results of the author's work, with a view to the projected publication of a paper. No record of such paper has been traced.

Biographical note

The author was born at Niagara Falls (Canada), and qualified M.D. at McGill University in 1894. Later he was a professor of physiological chemistry at Cornell University, and in the First World War joined the R.A.M.C. and was Director of a Base Hygiene Laboratory and bacteriologist to the Medical Research Council. From 1921 to 1937 he was biochemist to Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.
