![needed by many adults, to have to state accurately what is wanted, to describe the locality of a thing pre- cisely, and to instruct a messenger clearly. In the cases when a child really understands what is wanted to be said, it is excellent practice to let him try to put it clearly in his own words. To concoct a telegram, for instance, that will be clear and definite, not long-winded, and yet not capable of misconstruction; or to formulate his own message before delivering it.
