    out of harmony with the universe. A statement which is contrary to fact should be non-existent. There is no sense in it. It is true that adults often know too little to answer children's ques- tions, or to give exact information. Parenthood needs training for, like everything else. But confessions of ignorance are wholesome: and at any rate deliberate falseness can be avoid- ed. The worst kind of lies which children can be told are those that lead to fright and superstition.
