The buildings are shown as unruined. A play is in performance in the theatre of Statilius Taurus. A chariot race is in progress in the Circus Maximus. On the right is the Septizonium, a three-story building. In the foreground, the arches of the circus are labelled as a shopping arcade (Tabernae mercatorum)
