Gives a personal insight into the day-to-day problems of living with a chronic and progressively disabling condition, Parkinson's disease. Focuses on one family in which the mother, Paddy, at aged 54 was diagnosed with Parksinson's. The film shows how the family has responded to her speech and movement deteriorating. There are reflections from a recent survey of people living with Parkinson's and what additional care can be requested (in Paddy's instance, a Home Help is provided), Dr R. B. Godwin-Austen, Consultant Neurologist, comments on the use of the drug L-Dopa in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. Paddy's husband talks about how he became acclimatised to Paddy's condition - she also provides a commentary about her experiences.
