    THE METROPOLITAN BUILDING ACTS. 18 & 19 YICT. Cap. 122. An Act to amend the Laws relating to the Construction of Buildings in the Metropolis and its Neighbour- hood. [l'4tli August, 1855.] Whereas it is expedient that the laws relating to buildings in the metropolis and its neighbourhood should be amended : Be it therefore enacted by the Queen’s most excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords spiritual and temporal, and Commons, in this present parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows ; (that is to say,) Peeliminary. I. This Act may be cited for all purposes as “The Short title. Metropolitan Building Act, 1855.” II. This Act shall, except in cases where it is other- Commencement wise expressly provided, come into operation on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six. III.
