Set of photographs taken by William MacQuitty (1905-2004), a British film producer, writer and photographer, showing the interior of surgery rooms. Includes 15 transparency slides taken across Asia; subjects include three birth control posters in Chaoyang, China, image of a patient in Peking Children's Hospital, outside of a building labelled 'Canton C', and 10 images of a surgical operation for Thyroid adenoma in Shanghai, all dated December 1978. Also includes 17 black and white prints; subjects include images of Sir John Charnley performing hip replacement surgery, surgery in various operating theatres including MIdhurst, Marsden, and a mobile operating theatre on the road in Iran, focusing on protective equipment.
