![415. —% ft Yuan kii. Pie lu and Su Sung. T‘ao Hung-king [Med. plants, 16] says that Yuan ki is the same as the prefecture jjtf Tsi yin kiin in the province of ^ Yen chou [see 347, 404]. According to the Li tai, etc. Yiian kii was a hien from the Han down to the T£ang. Now : Shan tung, Ts‘ao chou fu, Ho tse hien. 416. —7C til Yiian shan. Pie lu. Not ascertained. 417. —Yiian an hien. Su Rung. Since Sui: hien. Now : Hu pei, King men chou, Yiian an hien. 418. —Yiie. Po wu chi, Su Rung and Su Sung. Name of an ancient kingdom of the Ch‘un ts‘iu period, in present Che kiang. Its capital was fj* Hui ki [see 98]. Yiie is frequently mentioned together with Wu [see 389], ^[>J Yiie chou, a prefecture noticed by Su Sung, was etablished by the T‘ang. Now : Che kiang, Shao hing fu. The kingdom of Yiie in Che kiang is sometimes also called jf[ @ Tung (Eastern) Yiie, to distinguish it from Nan (Southern) Yiie. The regions called Nan Yiie (Southern China) were first conquered by Emperor Ts£IN Shi Huang-ti [B.C. 246-209]. See Shi ki, chap. 113. 419. —J§L Yiie. Su Sung. Ancient term for Southern China, Kuang tung, Kuang si and Fu kien. The K.D. says it is the same as ^ Yiie [see 418]. The 4§p. Yiie ti (country of the Yiie) is mentioned in the Chinese annals referring to the Chan kuo period [B.C. 481-221]. In the History of the Early Han [chap. 45] there is an account of the f£j H* Nan Yue waNg (king of Southern Yiie) and the l|- EE MiN YiiE WANe!
