Pali Text: la Upasampadä, incomplete (ff. kî—ku-b,2) lb.Oväda, incomplete (f. ku-b,2-6, £ ke) Remarks: Some gilding and letters have chipped off f. ke-a. WMS. Burmese-Pali 11 Two red lacquered wooden covers, gilded and decorated in red. Kammaväcä, incomplete On front cover, kneeling figures offering flowers; on back cover, Pali five circles: outer two with birds, inner three with geometric design. In ink on stickers inside front cover: 12. Leaves//3. Palm d //Sanscript [sic]//M.MS.//from//Rangoon. Printed on sticker on back cover: Lot 136, in pencil: 78935. Remarks: Purchased at Glendining, November 10, 1933. 11.1 Gilded decorated ivory plates; 11 ff. (ka-kam); 53.8 X 8.9 cm.; 6 lines, 28 char, in black lacquer, large tamarind-seed script, 48.5 cm. On paper cutter: Sañ cvay kammav // 3 coñ 'acum (oocgoSooooii ^> g ® oc33iç ) [Kammaväcä [text] on ivory; 3 complete texts]. This paper cutter was with WMS. Burmese-Päli 34. Remarks: slightly damaged. Thick gold marks outlined in red are used for punctuation in the script. Typed on card: Kamawasah Book./A Burmese manuscript containing ordination service of a Buddhist priest./From the palace of King Theebaw. Note in blue ink on back of card: The ms. is complete: upasampadä; ticlvarana avippaväsa, breaks of [sic] in the middle of a sentence. Folios are put in correct sequence (NB: no pagination)//20.2.1907. Contrary to what the note says, the ff. are paginated with Burmese numbers in red in between lines of text (except for f. 8), and the following ff. numbers using the Burmese letter system are in the margins: ki, kl, kü, kè, ke [sic, out of order], ko [most of this number has flaked off].
