![C ] deponent out of Mr lfaacfon*s room one day when his difeafe was at the worfl, and Mrs TuUis informed the deponent that Mr Jones was very defirous that the deponent fliould adminifter to Mr Ifaacfon certain medicines, which he faid had been prefcribed by Dr John Brown ; and that Mr Jones had appHed to her (the landlady) to propofe the matter to the deponent. That upon this the deponent faid, that as Mr Ifaacfon was attended by two of the firft phyficians in Edin- burgh, flie would give him nothing but by their direftions : To which Mr Jones anfwered, that if the deponent would do as he defired her, Mr Ifaacfon would give her a handfome reward when he recovered. That Mr Jones then told her, that the medicine he wiflied her to adminifter to Mr Ifaacfon, was a bottle of double rum, of which Ihe was to give him a glafsful with fifty drops of laudanum in it the firfl night, and ano- ther glafsful with I DO drops of laudanum in it the fecond night, if the firfl: dofe fliould have a good efle£l. To this propofal the deponent an- fwered, that if fuch medicines were given to Mr Ifaacfon in the flate in which he then was, he would not recover to reward either her or Mr Jones.
