    “Southport Golfers7 77 Bed—Paul Carter Trophy To the Captains, Secretaries and Golfers for their co-operation, and especially to the Captain (Mr. Fred Hooton) and members of the Birkdale Golf Club for kindly organising the Final Competition and providing prizes for the members of the winning team. The record sum of £448 2s. 9d. was raised on July 18th, 1942. To Councillor Paul Carter, the donor of the trophy. “Southport Lady Golfers7 77 Cot To the Lady Golfers of Southport for their dona¬ tion of £46 17s. 6d., being a result of Competitions held during the year; £20 of this amount to be paid to the maintenance of the Cot, and £26 17s. 6d. to the Capital Account towards the endowment of the Cot in perpetuity. “Southport and District Licensed Victuallers7 Bowlers7 77 Bed To the Chairman, Mr. F. Broad, the Honorary Secretary, Mr. H. Jones, and the members of the Southport and District Licensed Victuallers’ Bowling League Committee for their handsome gift of £136 10s. Od. * Ex-Mayoress Infirmary Effort To the ex-Mayoress (Mrs. H. W. Barber) for £1,008 14s. 9d., which she raised for the Infirmary-dur¬ ing her year of office. To Mr. and Mrs. Jones for their generosity in placing at the disposal of the ex-Mayoress, Thom’s Cafe on Thursday, 19th February, 1942. Infirmary Sunday Collections To the Clergy and to their congregations for the valuable help they have given to the Hospital. The amount received from places of worship was £638 12s. 8d. To the Rev. H. Lionel Gibbs and the members of St. Philip’s Church, for the Special Service they held for “Infirmary Sunday,’’ when the Mayor attended, supported by representatives of the Southport Cor¬ poration, the Infirmary Council, members of the Nursing Staff and A.R.P. Services.
