This schane has helped a few people, in the naain ovmer/occupiers, to obtain modem amenities, e.g. bathroom, hot water supply, internal sanitary accommodation, but the majorily of people living in the older houses in the anea are still v/ithout these facilities. Lomax the Council*s Engineer and Surveyor has provided the following iaf orma tion; - Foul sewerage ■vvithin the district is partly on the combined system and partly on the separate system. Since 1946 practically all development has been on the separate system. Sewerage schemes over the last fe’w years have elimina.ted practically all the cesspits and generally the foul sewerage system may be considered adequate.
