![Of the 44 deaths which occurred under one year: 14 were under 1 month. ] 7 were between 1 and 6 months. 13 between six and 12 months. Fifty-seven deaths occurred under five years, which gives a mortality of 4’88 per thousand at this age period, on estimated population of 11,674—a decrease of 0*43 as compared by 1907. Zymotie Death Rate. Twenty-five deaths occurred from Zymotic Diseases, which is equivalent to a Zymotic death rate of 2*14 per thousand of the population estimated to the middle of 1908, and which is an increase of 0’49 as compared with 1907. Notifiable Infectious Diseases. Scarlatina, Diphtheria, Enteric Fever, Puerperal Fever, and Erysipelas occurred at the places and in the months indicated Scarlatina, by the subioined table. 10 Cases. ^ Seaton Delaval. Four cases.—1 in April, 1 in June, 2 in December. Hartley. Six cases.—2 in March, 3 in May, 1 in June. Ten cases of Scarlet Fever were notified during the year, as against 130 in 1904, 58 in 1905, 27 in 1906, 13 in 1907 They were of a mild type, and confined to Seaton Delaval and Hartley. There were no fatal cases. Diphtheria 46 Cases. Seaton Eleven cases.—1 in January, 2 in March, 1 in Augusc, 6 in Delaval. November, 1 in December. Hartley. Four cases.—2 in March, 2 in November. Horton. Seven cases.—1 in April, 1 in May, 1 in June, 1 in July, 2 in November, 1 in December. Hartford West None. Hartford East Twenty-four.—1 in March, 1 in August, 13 in September, 8 in October, 1 in November. Diphtheria occurred at Seaton Delaval, Hartley, and Horton, and was more or less sporadic.
