Description

Advertising card for Ayer's Cathartic Pills showing 7 identical naked infants taking pills from a large, ornate ceramic dish, putting them into round boxes, painting the labels to go round them, wrapping the box in paper and then carrying away the sealed package into the pale blue background. The pills were supposed to cure constipation, purify and stimulate the blood, cure disorders of the stomach, liver and bowels, costiveness, jaundice, indigestion, headache, dizziness and biliousness.
