On referring to the table, which shows the death rates of 42 years, it will be observed that, the rate for this year is the lowest ever recorded, and another interesting point is that throughout this long period the death rate in the county has been slightly lower than for England and Wales as a whole except in the Quinquennial period 1909-13.
