![[ »* ] A MOST EXTRAORDINARY CURE BY THE USE OF MAREDANT’s DROPS. To Mr. NORTON, Surgeon, in Golden-fqmre, London. SIR, O^cfordy Lecemher IN Gratitude to you, and for the Good of the Public, I beg Leave to fend you the following miraculous Account of a Cure which does Honour to yourfelf and your invaluable Medicine, and which I defire you will publifh for the Good of Mankind in general. My ypungeft Son, about twelve Years of Age, had been afflidled, for above two Tears, with a vi¬ olent fcorbutic Humour in the Teeth and Gums; by which the falival Glands werefo fwelled and in¬ flamed that it was with Difficulty he could open his Mouth to receive the fmalleft Nouriffiment, which could only be conveyed by a fmall Spoon. I had the timely Advice ol more than one able Phyfician and Surgeon; but the Methods they ufed were fo inefficacious, and the Diforder gained fo much Ground, notwithftanding all their Prefcriptions, that I had refolved to take him to London,^ where, if poffible, I might meet with better Advice and Succefs. I ffiouid have put this Defign in Execu¬ tion, had not a Gentleman of Oxford informed me of the great Benefit he had received from the Ufe of your Drops, which I immediately refolved to make Trial of •, and had the Satisfadlion of feeing my Son gradually mend, and, in lefs chan a Month, perfedtly cured : He is now in Oxford, where ma¬ ny People of Credit are ready to teflify the Truth pf this Cure. 1 am, Sir^ 7'oHr ever mejt chliged, ^nd Grateful hurnole 'Servant,, liiOMAS WILKINS.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b30789941_0013.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
