Divers. The chief forms in the Family of Colymbidcje are exemplified in (54) the Northern Diver, {Colymbus glacialis, Linn.); and (60) the crested Grebe, {Podiceps cristatus, Lath.) Auks. The most prominent groups of the Family of Pelecanidce are seen in the following types : (92) the white Pelican, {Pelecanus onocrota- /m5, Linn.); {dP) the Cormorant, {Phalacrocorax carhop', (97) the Gannet, {Sula Bassana, Briss.); (99) the Frigate Bird, {Tachypetes aquila,We\]l.f, (103) the Tropic Bird, {Phaeton cethereus, Linn.); (106) the black-bellied Darter, {Plotus melanogaster, Gmel.) ; &c. Gulls.
