    altogether unnoticed in Kngland, shower baths in Ck*rimin schools have undergone a gradual ]>eriod of develoj)inent, and have now reached their tinal stage. The first stage was represented by installations in dark basements, about 10 feet below the level of the ground. ]>rovided with large zinc tubs, and generally insufficient e(jui])ment. They weie badly lighted and ventilated, anil not very accessible. In the second stage, troughs let in the Moor were sub- stituted for the zinc tubs. Wntilation, light, and general C([ui])ment were im]>roved. In the third and final stage the installations are either on the ground floor, or only a few feet below. They are sj)lendidly lighted, efficiently ventilated, easily accessible, ])rovided with tiled troughs, marble or tiled walls and cells, atul fitted out with the most modern douching arrangements. From 00 to 00 ])er cent, of the total number of children above seven bathe, and shower baths may now be considered as an integral part of ]).hysical education in (lerman schools. For the convenience of those members of the As.sociation who may be travelling in Clermany, and may wish to per- sonally inspect some shower baths, 1 recommend the following (‘leFiientary schools in the following towns :— Wiesbaden Bliicher School.
