![patient, who had never previously suffered fiom this or any other serious disease, was admitted at the outset of an acute rheumatic attack. He has been treated sedulously in accordance with the principles laid down, and yet, with every precaution, he has twice been threatened with relapse. Notwithstanding this tendency, however, he has escaped any cardiac implication other than some slight mitral and tricuspid regurgitation due to mus- cular relaxation, and even this is now passing away.
