Miss White, Deputy Super-! intendent, continues to give these classes at the Exeter Maternity i and District Nursing Home twice in the month. Each motheiA is invited to attend twice in all. 194 mothers attended. Child Welfare. | Child Welfare Centres. These continued as usual. About half of all the pre-schoo ( children in the City and about three-quarters of the children under J 1 year old attend the child welfare centres. The babies under ]]• attending for the first time numbered 845, equal approximate!) r to 74% of the number of babies born in the City during the year r In all the clinics the number of children attending during the yea:I; was 2,652, making 17,716 attendances (including 286 at theii toddlers’ clinics). Of these children, 725 were born in 19591c 765 in 1958 and 1,162 during the period 1954 to 1957. The tota number of first attendances was 989.
