    XLI.—Any person in necessitous circumstances, being dul> recommended, may be admitted by the Board of Management at their weekly meeting, unless ineligible under the following Rules. XLII.—The following persons shall be inadmissible as in¬ patients, and if inadvertently admitted, shall be removed as soon as the Board of Management deem advisable:—Persons of unsound mind; persons having or suspected to have any in¬ fectious or contagious disorder; persons suffering from old habitual ulcers, cancer not admitting of operation, consumption or dropsy in their last stages, scrofula of long standing, epileptic or convulsive fits; persons deemed incurable or in a dying con¬ dition; persons capable of receiving equal benefits as out¬ patients. XLIII.—No person in receipt of parochial relief shall be ad¬ mitted as an in-patient, unless a weekly payment towards his or her maintenance in the Infirmary be undertaken by the Guardians of the Union to which he or she shall belong. XLIV.—Every patient who, in the opinion of the Board of Management, is able to make some contribution towards the funds of the Infirmary, shall be required to contribute such sum as the Board of Management shall in their discretion think fit. Persons not in necessitous circumstances, if otherwise eligible, may be admitted by the Board of Management on their agreeing to make adequate payment fc.r all charges, and such persons shall not be required to obtain a recommendation as provided for in Rule XL. XLV.—In case of accident, the Matron may admit any person not suffering from infectious or contagious disease; and also other cases of urgent emergency subject to the approval of one of the Medical Officers of the Institution. A recommen¬ dation must be obtained and presented at the next weekly meeting of the Board of Management for confirmation or other¬ wise, subject to the provisions of Rule XLIV. XLVL—In case of rejection of any patient, a letter shall be sent to the recommender acquainting him of the cause thereof. XLVII.—A patient, duly recommended and qualified, who cannot be at once admitted for want of room, shall be received into the House upon the first vacancy, and in the meantime shall be treated as an out-patient. REGISTRATION FEE. XLVIII.—Patients shall be charged a registration fee of one shilling upon admission, and upon each renewal, but this fee may be remitted at the discretion of the Board of Management, \f special circumstances seem to require it.
